What an exciting weekend’s golf at Kew for our junior girls!
For the first time in the event’s short history, more than 100 players headed
to Kew Country Club for the 2017 North Coast Junior Masters, in which we had six
girls participate in the event.
Play got underway on Saturday at midday with a shot-gun start for all
players, whilst it was an early 7:30am start on Sunday morning for round
Pyper Hollis & Quedesha Golledge both from Kew and Madeleine Laws-Farrell
from Port Macquarie participated in the Masters event for girls with a
handicap less than 19.5. Whilst Ella Scaysbrook (Port Macquarie), Vanna
Limeburner (Kew) & Hollie Fuller (Grafton) all played in the Junior Masters,
a Stableford division for those players on a handicap of 19.5 or above. For
all three girls this was their first 18 Hole Junior Tournament and they were
very excited to participate.
All girls enjoyed the weekend’s golf with some personal bests recorded.
The girls results were as follows:
Masters Division:
Pyper Hollis (Kew) – R1 94/81 and R2 78/65 for a Gross Total: 172 & Net
Total: 146. Pyper was the Net Winner for the Girls 14 & 15 Years, Placed 5th
in Gross and Tied 10th in the Girls Overall.
Madeline Laws-Farrell (Port Macquarie) – R1 95/78 and R2 86/69 for a Gross
Total: 181 & Net Total: 147. This was a Personal Best for Madeline which saw
her take out the Net Winner for the Girls 13 Years & Under.
She placed 4th in Gross & 14th in the Girls Overall.
Quedesha Golledge (Kew) – R1 104/83 and R101/80 for a Gross Total: 205 & Net
Total: 163. Quedesha placed 7th in both Gross & Net in the Girls 13 Years &
Under & Placed 18th Overall.
Junior Masters:
Hollie Fuller (Grafton) – R1 35 & R2 34 for a Total of 69 Points and was the
Runner Up in this event
Vanna Limeburner (Kew) – R1 32 & R2 36 for a Total of 68 Points and placed
Ella Scaysbrook (Port Macquarie) – R1 25 & R2 32 for a Total 57 Points and
placed 7th
