Honour of Life Membership for Verelle Miller

The Women’s Golf Central North Coast (WGCNC) Committee recently recommended that Life Membership of WGCNC be given to Verelle Miller.

The WGCNC constitution states for a person to be eligible for Life Membership of WGCNC they must have been a member of the WGCNC committee or have given outstanding service to the game of golf in the district.

During Verelle’s 40 plus years of golf Verelle has shown commitment and dedication to women’s golf.  Working for the betterment of golf by serving on committees at club, district, and state level. She has represented her club at interclub events and tournaments, as well as being instrumental in the administration and organisation of many events.

Verelle is a member of Forster Tuncurry Golf Club and since joining in 1986 has been very active within the club, taking on roles of Captain, Vice President and President. She has been a mentor for the ‘Budding Birdies’ program, an initiative introduced by the Forster Tuncurry Ladies, over 10 years ago, to encourage and introduce females into the world of golf.

Verelle has been an active member of the WGCNC Committee for the past 12 years and in that time has held the positions of Captain, Vice-Captain, Secretary and President.

In 2009 Verelle was appointed by GNSW to the role of District Councillor, a position she held for 8 years, and is an accredited rules official.

Verelle has made a huge contribution to golf in our district and well and truly meets both criteria, and it was agreed deserving of the honour of life membership of WGCNC.
